FAQ

What Are Talon Steel Buildings Made From?

Talon Steel buildings feature all-steel construction. The steel used in the main structural members of our buildings has a minimum yield strength of 50,000 psi, and the weight of the steel is carefully calculated by our engineers to handle all applicable snow and wind load tolerances. The standard gauge of wall and roof sheeting panels is 26 gauge with a yield strength of 80,000 psi. .
Are All Talon Steel Buildings Painted?

Yes, the walls and trim on all Talon Steel buildings is painted in your choice of more than 20 different color options. Topline’s factory-applied paint protection features a 30-year warranty. Our standard roof sheets are made from Galvalume material for exceptional corrosion protection in the harshest environments. Galvalume has a shiny aluminum finish which appears white on most roof slopes, but can be painted if a different color is desired. Topline’s Galvalume sheeting also features 30-year warranty protection
Is The Trim On Talon Steel Buildings Hemmed?

Yes. This gives our trim a neat, straight finish that is safer because there are no raw edges. Hemmed edges are also much stronger than unhemmed trim and, because they have no exposed material, are highly resistant to rust and corrosion.

Are Talon Steel Buildings Insulated?

Talon Steel offers laminated fiberglass blanket insulation in a variety of thicknesses and R-Value ratings, as well as thermal-efficiency systems for both interior walls and ceilings. Your Talon Steel building consultant can make recommendations on insulation based on climate and building use.
Are Sheeting Closures Standard On All Talon Steel Buildings?

Absolutely! Fitted foam closures are standard at the eave and base of all Talon Steel buildings, which prevents dust, snow, insects, rodents or birds from gaining access. In addition, Talon Steel also offers an optional deluxe trim package that provide a virtually “chew-proof barrier” for your structure.
How Long Does It Take To Get A Building?

Because every Talon Steel building is custom designed based on the customer’s needs and preferences, delivery time is generally 6-8 weeks from the time the order is received. However, this schedule can vary based on seasonality and can be as short as 3 weeks or as long as 12 weeks for more complex projects. Your Talon Steel Building Consultant can give you a more exact estimate after reviewing your specific project.

What About My Local Building Codes?

Every Talon Steel building is engineered to meet all local building code requirements, and Talon Steel will provide drawings stamped and certified by a registered engineer if required. If your local area has no specific code guidelines, Talon Steel will design your building based on historical data for that county.
Who Will Erect My Building?

Talon Steel uses Professional Steel Building Erectors who specialize in pre-engineered steel building erection. Talon Steel also has trusted partners for concrete and excavation, and any other finish work you desire.
What Type Of Foundation Is Required?

Which foundation is right for you will depend a great deal on the type of building you select and your local building codes. Talon Steel’s Building Consultants will work closely with you to make sure you get the best option for your needs at the lowest possible cost.
